Burj Al-Luqluq & Hikayatona «Forsa Bazaar» for Palestinian women in Jerusalem

Burj Al-Luqluq Social Center Society inaugurated bazaar for women entitled « Forsa Bazaar « at Yabous Cultural Center in Jerusalem in the presence of representatives of local and international institutions and Palestinian artists, and entrepreneurs from Jerusalem.

The opening ceremony was attended by UNFPA Representative in Palestine, Kristine Blokhus, UNFPA Youth Program Officer Sima Alami , Executive Manager of BALL society, Muntaser Edkaidek, Project Coordinator Farah Abu Zant and Marwan Al-Salaymeh from Hikayatona.

Mr. Muntaser welcomed the audience and stressed that the bazaar targets Jerusalemite women who work in Jerusalem and for the aim of encouraging them to continue as well as open opportunities for them.

He expressed his happiness to accomplish this unique bazaar in business, industries, and various arts fields, and employ them to preserve the heritage culture in Jerusalem.

Marwan Salaymeh stressed that this bazaar is a priority to support Jerusalemite women workers in Jerusalem, where more than twenty booths participated in the bazaar in addition to organizing many activities.

Forsa bazaar consists of several social and cultural booths, which aims to support women entrepreneurs. The bazaar includes several artisanal and service projects, in addition to awareness and art workshops as well as cultural and artistic activities targeted women in Jerusalem. One of the events talked about the issue of raising the awareness for gynecological examination in the pink October of breast cancer.

It is worth mentioning that the bazaar was implemented by Burj Al-Luqluq Social Center Society and “Hikayatna Market” and supported by the United Nations Fund for Population Activities within the project of “Forsa” which aims to support the youth initiatives in Jerusalem. The bazaar continued on Tuesday and Wednesday, where the Palestinian artist Manal Awad performed stand up comedy on the second day.
