Triangle Team from Burj Al Luqluq Social Center Society victory in the final debate within the National Debates Forum

 

After efforts that continued over the past three months of intense training, the Triangle team, represented Burj Al Luqluq Social Center Society, won with their colleagues from  Fikr / Nablus team in the final debate of the National Debating Forum, The Young Voice of the Mediterranean 2020.

The public had the decision to win the opposition team by 77% against 23%.

As for Young Med Voices Palestine, it is a training program on the art of debate that is implemented by the British Council and  Anna Lindh Foundation and with co-financing from the European Union, in cooperation and partnership with a group of Palestinian institutions and bodies.

Young Med Voices Palestine aims to empower young people to foster a culture of dialogue, contribute to public policy, shape media, and create a common understanding with peers across the Mediterranean on how to discuss issues of common interest to their societies.

Enhancing the personal skills of young people in the art of mutual dialogue and critical thinking to create a positive impact in societies. The Young Mediterranean Voices program provides the opportunity to embark on a journey full of debate, public speaking, critical thinking, time management, and research on scientific grounds.

It must be noted that the Burj Al Luqluq Social Center Society is participating for the first time in the tournament, which is being implemented for more than five years, and will win the first title for Jerusalem in the championship.

It is worth noting that the Burj Al Luqluq Social Center Society participated with 4 teams of the debate, namely: The Triangle, Elia, Sajal, and Isnad. 3 of them have reached the quarter-final stage.

We thank all those in charge of the Young Mediterranean Voices program, and in particular Mr. Osama Abu Arafa for the high efforts in his management of the national championship this year, and we also thank the coaches, coordinators, and participants for their efforts and commitment during 3 months of work and training.

Congratulations to the members of the Triangle Team: Yazan Rishq, Aya Abu Khdeir, Raghad Afghani. 

And for the rest of the teams that excelled and were able to reach the final debate, we can say that Burj Al Luqluq Social Center Society laid the first stone in establishing the first debate club in Jerusalem that includes all the Jerusalemite teams.
